Women's Wellness Workshop:
Breast & Lymphatic Health for Whole Health
Saturday, January 23, 2021 | 10:00-11:30 am
Breast Health is not often a topic discussed unless in relation to a mammogram or cancer diagnosis. 1 in 8 women in the US will develop breast cancer and the death rates of those diagnosed are higher than any other cancer, besides lung cancer. We need to take matters into our own hands, literally.
Gather with us via Zoom and learn how your breast and lymphatic health are connected to your overall wellness. In the privacy of your own home, we will discuss the lymphatic system, learn breast self massage techniques and participate in movements which assist in lymphatic drainage. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in and let’s have a frank discussion on self care tools to support your whole health! This wellness workshop event will be presented by Krista Tarrantino, RN, IBCLC of Earth Milk Moon and Alexis Pittmon Movement Educator of Be Well Pilates. $15 Nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds. |
About your presenters:
Krista Tarantino, RN, IBCLC
Krista is an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in postpartum and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with a BA in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Through her years of experience working in Mother/Baby care in multiple hospitals throughout California, she has witnessed the powerful emotional and spiritual shift which takes place; as when a child is born, so is a mother. Krista is honored to walk with women through these transformational experiences, which has opened her eyes to the importance of conscious health care and postpartum wellness. Teaching women to find guidance through informed choice, community, and within themselves has become her mission. She believes that when women are educated and empowered, our wellness can be an intuitive art. Krista loves making herbal infusions, spending time in nature, being in the ocean, traveling, meditating and teaching women about connecting to our natural cycles and traditional postpartum healing modalities.
Alexis Pittmon, Movement Educator
Alexis is a Santa Barbara native who loves to share her knowledge of the body with others. She is a BASI® Pilates and licensed Buff Bones® instructor with specializations in Scoliosis Management and Breast Cancer Restoration. Ten years ago she instantly connected with Pilates as a practice because it offers a graceful and powerful method with which to heal bodies, restore hope, strength and confidence to people, including herself. Alexis has a keen eye for recognizing body imbalances and assisting clients who are recovering from injury or need assistance as their bodies change. Her conscientious and creative teaching techniques encourage greater awareness of body and mind with focus on precision, strength and overall wellness for those of any fitness level.
